Class C Motorhomes Are Welcome In Junction, Texas
Class C motorhomes may not be the biggest RV in town, but that does not stop RV enthusiasts from loading up the truck and taking off to places yet seen. However, even the best RV lovers can miss out on finding roads less traveled. After all, the less traveled road is not advertised in the yellow pages. It takes some digging to find these places.
We have a destination for you to find on your next road trip that you do not want to miss.
Junction, Texas – Deep in the Heart of Texas
Five and a half hours southwest of Dallas lies the quiet city of Junction. When traveling down I-10, if you are not careful you just might pass this outdoor lover’s dream come true. It boasts fishing, hunting, canoeing and many other outdoor recreational activities.
Junction is nestled near the spring fed waters of South Llano River and North Llano River. Just three and half miles south of Junction on Highway 377 lies South Llano River State Park. Parking your Class C there will be no problem, since the park has 58 full service hookups dedicated to RVs.
Fly Fisherman’s Paradise
The San Saba River is known for many things but few compare to its fly-fishing. The waters are clear and the air is crisp. It is not unusual to spot catfish, carp, black bass, Guadalupe bass, and ever gar. If you are a fly angler, then the San Saba River is the place you will want to be.
Hiking, Backpacking Trails Galore
Nature lovers might be surprised to find Junction actually has 20 miles of hiking trails. While on the trail keep a lookout for some of Texas’ more popular birds. The bird blinds offer shelter as you try to spot some of the more elusive birds.
More common bird sightings include:
- flycatchers,
- humming birds
- hawks
- wrens
- warblers
If you are not familiar with your birds, taking a list of these birds is recommended to help spot.
Museum Goers Find a Surprise
While you are enjoying the fishing, hunting, hiking, and backpack trails, you will want to stop in at the Kimble Country Historical Commission Museum. You might be surprised what turns up in the artifacts and the genealogical records. You wouldn’t expect to find much in this quiet town, but checking out how pioneers lived is worth the trip.
Yep. Junction, Texas is one more place you need to visit. Next time you pack up your Class C motorhome, hit the dusty trail headed for Junction, Texas.
